What is ISO 17025?

It’s all about QUALTIY!

ISO 17025 is the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. It's a set of requirements that accredited laboratories use to show that they operate a quality management system and that they're technically competent to produce calibration and testing results. 

What it TAKES to be Accredited:

To achieve ISO 17025 accreditation, ECC Test Lab’s quality management system and technical competence were evaluated thoroughly by a third-party and deemed technically competent. ECC used A2LA as our third-party auditor.

For ECC this meant everything we were doing to ensure our test results were valid, needed to be documented. Our Quality Manual addresses anything we do that might impact the quality of our results. This includes SOPs, validation reports, measurements of uncertainty, calibration reports, intermediate checks, hiring qualified lab staff, properly training lab staff, proficiency testing, addressing non-conforming events or customer complaint, ensuring regular maintenance and calibration of our instruments and methods, and the list goes on.

The VALUE of ISO 17025:

The value of the ISO 17025 approved Quality Management System is in the gained confidence of our customers and ourselves. Particularly in the cannabis testing industry, ISO 17025 has become a standard that all credible testing labs will eventually hold, either because it is a state regulation or because the market demands it.
